The second in a series of 3 major mandala paintings by the artist and an adaptation of Tibetan mandala concepts, this work deals with the passage of time via reflections on the different phases of human life. It offers symbols for a journey, beginning with the sparks of light depicted in the central circle of the mandala. Scenes of childhood, youth, maturity and old age in the outer picture-ribbon of the square allude to the fleeting passage of time. Subtle symbolic imagery hints at the spiritual nature of the human soul's return to its own origin. A free written commentary by the artist on mandalas in general and on the concept behind this particular picture is included with each order of the reproduction.
